According to Eurogamer, the cyberattack on GTA 6 leak has even drawn the attention of the FBI, and it is now investigating the hacker who claimed responsibility for the network intrusion at Rockstar Games and rideshare company Uber.

Several reports – that include Uber’s as well – have signified that the GTA 6 leaker is in close connections with the hacker collective known as Lapsus$. The said group has engaged in several cyberattacks on big tech companies for financial gain.

In March of 2022, Lapsus$ stole source code from Samsung after hacking Nvidia a few days earlier. Moreover, a few of the group’s members were ultimately arrested, ranging from 16 to 21 years old.

Nevertheless, the organization is still active.
