Microsoft Teams, the rival communication platform to Zoom and Meet has seen a 50% increase in daily active users in this global pandemic. The number exponentially grow in the last six months. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella mentioned that Teams now has 115 million daily active users, during an earnings call.

Six months ago, the daily active users were around 75 million. Its rivals, Google Meet and Zoom also has some impressive numbers. Google said over 100 million users were daily active on Meet, while Zoom mentioned that there are 300 million daily Zoom meeting participants. Slack, Microsoft’s professional messaging app has also seen some growth.

Microsoft has been focusing on the users needs as many updates were seen in a few months. They included a Together Mode, which was used by the NBA for basketball games. Teams is also open to third-party apps and Microsoft has promised ‘breakout rooms’ feature by the end of this year.
