He also clarified, "It wasn't even a joke!"

Comedian John Oliver took digs at the late Queen Elizabeth II in his ‘Last Week Tonight,’ saying she’s now “looking up” at the late Princess Diana.

The jokes about the late monarch’s death were recently censored by British broadcaster Sky, a decision Oliver openly slammed.

“If I declared, ‘The Queen is alive,’ that doesn’t make it true. We all know she’s in the afterlife right now looking up at Diana,” he said.

Oliver appeared on fellow comedian Seth Meyers’ NBC celebrity talk show Late Night with Seth Meyers’, where he broke his silence about the censorship.

“All we said was that Britain is still mourning the shocking loss – right? – of a 96-year-old woman from natural causes. It’s literally not a joke,” Oliver added.

“If this seems like a stunt made for Fox News, you are absolutely right. But it also may have been made by Fox News. Because just two months ago, Tucker Carlson did a segment pointing out the whiteness of Martha’s Vineyard, and he had this fun proposal,” Oliver explained.

He also dedicated more rage to President Joe Biden’s recent declaration that the COVID-19 pandemic is “over.”

Elizabeth Alexandra Mary became Elizabeth II in 1952 after her father, George VI’s death. Her erstwhile heir, Prince Charles, became the reigning monarch – King Charles III.
