Musical.ly now known as Tik Tok is a social media platform which has taken the world on a storm. Launched in 2014, it has crossed the milestone of reaching over 200 million registered users worldwide. And is still keep on growing each and every day.
For the uninitiated, Tik Tok/Musical.ly is a video social networking app for video creation, messaging, and live broadcasting with fans or followers. It has earned tremendous popularity among young grassroots content writers. Because this app not only let them do lip syncing on music videos but also gives freedom to create their own content. Be it dancing, acting, drama, comedy or any other genre it as all welcomed on the platform.
Earlier this year of 2018, the popular app was rebranded as Tik Tok and it has brought some significant changes. There are a number of added features and effects which were not there before. Also, the interface of the platform has drastically changed and turned it into something totally new and stunning.
But with all these changes seen this year, one drastic change has also occurred in the user’s life. As Musical.ly before getting transformed scraped its standalone streaming app Live.ly in 2018. Launched in July 2016, during VidCon, Live.ly was an app which helped users to go live on the platform to communicate with their fans worldwide.
But there is nothing to worry because the company just merged Live.ly’s standalone application into the mainline Tik Tok/Musical.ly application. According to TechCrunch, “The majority of live-stream viewership was already taking place on Musical.ly’s main app. So it made sense for the company. To consolidate the live video alongside the other short, lip sync videos Musical.ly is known for.” Because of which the app is removed from Google Play and App Store.
