In last year’s YouTuber JerryRigEverything bend test, the Asus ROG Phone 5 snapped.
Since the ROG Phone 6 Pro was rumored, folks wondered how the phone might fare when put through the exact torture.
Zack from JerryRigEverything got to the ROG Phone 6 Pro today. And here’s what happened.
The video starts in a pretty standard fashion, with the Gorilla Glass Victus on the front scratching at level 6 on the Mohs scale and the deeper grooves at level 7.
The sides are made from aluminum, and the buttons are removable. The camera bump is covered by glass, and the AMOLED screen lasts for about 30 seconds under the flame of a lighter before the area turns black and never recovers.
The bend test is destructive—the ROG Phone 6 Pro snaps in half very fast on the first try. Remarkably, the screen doesn’t crack, thanks to the Gorilla Glass Victus, but it does get bent to being unusable. The back is shattered.
JerryRigEverthing is known for its brutal bend tests. Zack Nelson (the channel’s owner) tried the same with ROG Phone 6 Pro, and it didn’t last. The ROG Phone 6 is the second Asus phone ruined in the test.
If you plan on buying the Asus POG Phone 6 Pro for your gaming needs, ensure that you use it carefully.
