Google-owned YouTube, which sees a daily upload of 5 billion videos, has some good news for students in India. To stand out in the stiff competition of online entertainment, YouTube has unveiled new student plans with premium offerings that include both, YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium. Students will have to fork out ₹59 for YouTube Music Premium and ₹79 for YouTube Premium, coming Wednesday.
The discounted plans can only be availed by students enrolled in accredited colleges or universities in India. Back in March 2019, YouTube launched its most anticipated music streaming app YouTube Music Premium which rivals with the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Users could opt for a 3-months trial.
The plans will definitely benefit students as audio and video files on YouTube can be downloaded for offline viewing along with background playback. Gaana also budged to the pressing competition by slashing their annual rates by 75%
