WhatsApp’s most awaited dark mode feature is finally out for some users. As per a recent report released by WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned social messaging app is working on rolling out the dark mode. Additionally, the iOS dark theme is also nearly set for release. The app has not made any official announcement as to when the feature would be available as a stable version for both Android and iOS users. The update is rolling out for iOS users in the Test version but it is still under process and unstable.
The dark mode is a very useful feature as it prevents the app from draining as much battery. Facebook-owned Messenger app also includes this feature.
The iOS dark theme is ready, except for:
No status updates cell.
WhatsApp Settings > Profile cells.
Phone number, About, Business details cells in Contact info.
Contacts list cells.
Storage Usage cells.
Cells in Backup section.
Wrong group description cell color.

WABetaInfo also stated that “WhatsApp can fix these in 15 minutes. The real problem is that we don’t know when they will do.” It is estimated that the Dark Theme is visible. The blog further explained, ” When you share something in WhatsApp, for example, a photo from your Camera Roll, you see the Dark Theme!”
As of now, the update only works for users running the beta version of the app on a phone with Android 10. WaBetaInfo reported that other expected updates for the app include a low data mode and the introduction of Haptic Touch support for iOS devices.
