Apple plans to begin manufacturing iPhone 14 in India

NEWS

According to a report from Bloomberg News on Tuesday, Apple Inc. intends to begin producing the iPhone 14 in India around two months after the device is first made available in China.

Although the gap between the two countries is not totally closed as some had hoped, it is further narrowed.

Due to tensions with the US government and nationwide lockdowns that have been imposed by Xi Jinping's administration, Apple, which formerly produced the majority of its iPhones in China, is looking for alternatives.

Foxconn Technology Group, the main producer of iPhones, looked into the logistics of importing parts from China and constructing the iPhone 14 handset at its plant outside of Chennai in southern India.

Following the initial September release, they predicted that the first iPhone 14s from India will likely be completed in late October or November.

Diwali, which starts on October 24, would be a lofty goal, a source told the news agency.
