Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the name TikTok might ring some bells. It has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. First, it was banned in Tamil Nadu but then it was extended to the entire country. The reasons cited were sleazy and pornographic content, affecting teenagers. The ban didn’t affect the existing users but people who wanted to download TikTok couldn’t as SC ordered Google and Apple to remove the app from their respective app stores.
In a new update a few days ago, the app was unbanned, leading to loud cheers from youths who were already using the app. Although, the app isn’t quite back yet. If you search the Google Play Store or the Apple Store, you won’t find the app as these stores are yet to implement new orders.
ByteDance, the owner of TikTok recently invested a billion dollars in the Indian market even though the app was banned. After this fresh update, Tik Tok might go full-fledged on the marketing.
