Want to know that how SEO would transform in 2018?

It seems as if 2018 would be an exciting year for SEO, and it’s time to explore what’s on the horizon for SEO this year.

The Groundbreaking SEO trends

Google’s algorithm has over 200 factors in store, and this is what makes SEO a complex science. It’s never been the algorithms that made SEO challenging, but it has always been it’s ever-changing nature that kept people guessing. Search engines are in constant struggle to come up with the best quality search results. And it’s obvious that some ranking factors transform themselves into something much more powerful, while the others completely fall into the stupor, and sometimes an absolute factor arises from nothingness.

1. SERP Features Are Elevating

It’s obvious that many people still think of a #1 ranking as the best way to get more traffic. However, is it actually true? If you think it is, then it’s time to think again.

SERP features are rising like never before, and they are stealing the audience’s attention, and clicks than organic ranking. The Google SERP has been through a huge transformation. Rather than featuring ten blue links, it has transformed all its way into making you feel as if you are a part of a mammoth carnival.

2. Structured Data

Structured data is another way of helping your business reach your audience. It’s a method by which the HTML is formatted in a specific way using a vocabulary that tells the search engine how to interpret the content or how to display it in SERP’s.

Structured data lets people improve the search engine results in various ways. Knowledge Graph panels and snippets are the best examples of structured data. Snippets increase the ranking using Clickthrough Rate by about 30 percent.

Search engine results are growing more diverse by every passing day, and it’s important to not ignore the opportunity to stand out. Go grab it right at the moment before a competitor snaps it off from you.

3. The Fastest Survives

The fastest competitor wins the game. Not only does it applies to a sport, but it also goes the same in case of ranking. Speed is a major UX factor, and UX factor in itself is an important element that affects ranking.

But how fast is fast? Any ideas?

Google expects the pages to load within three seconds. A free version of Google’s page speed test would tell how much time does your page takes to load. And depending on the time, it’s important to make the necessary alterations.

4. Relevance

With technology at its peak, it’s harder to convince Google that you have a great content when your content is only above the average. The harder it gets, the easier it’s for you to get penalized got trying too. Google analyses the quality of a content in a plethora of ways, Latex Semantic Indexing being one among them.

With enough experience of looking through millions of pages every day, Google is knowledgeable about the terms that are related and build expectations in a content. This helps Google in determining whether a piece of content is comprehensive or not.

With Rankbrain at its aid, Google may further analyze the best performing search results too. This is done in accordance with the Google’s user satisfaction metrics.

5. Voice Search, The Authentic Deal

Still dubious about voice search:

Well, surveys prove that over 55 percent of teens and 40 percent of adults use voice search on a daily basis. According to Google, the use of voice search is increasing at a tremendous rate. When that’s the case, it’s time to grow more aware. Because voice search is the same as type search, and it calls for a whole new level of keywords research routine. Voice searches are sure to use the normal, conversational sentences rather than the odd sounding query lingo.

6. Mobile, It’s Huge

The rising use of voice search proves another important fact that most of the Google searches come from mobile devices. Thus, the mobile-friendliness factor and the mobile first index cannot simply be ignored as it affects the ranking tremendously. This calls for awareness about mobile SEO, and it isn’t simply the time to be procrastinating.

7. Backlinks

Links have always been a factor of trust when it comes to search engines. But with the new year comes transformations. Linkless mentions are now becoming an off-page signal that values as much as links.

Search engines could easily associate the mentions with brands and use them as a factor to determine the brand’s authority. Many of the patents and SEO experts have confirmed this query themselves thus making it easier to believe the fact.

8. Personalised SERP

Personalised SERP’s doesn’t only depend on the traditional ranking factors, but also on the whereabouts of the user. Google, Bing, and Yahoo have also personalized their search results in a plethora of ways.

While moving forward in the New Year it’s important to understand that SEO has already made plans to transform into something big, and ranking first in the organic spot is never the goal anymore. As search engines evolve, there are many ways, in which one could increase the search engine traffic without being bothered about the organic SERP’s.

Thanks for some good tips on SEO. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Yoast. That seems to bee the go-to plugin to help with SEO.

Thanks for your query. Yes, Yoast is go-to plugin to help with SEO. I have mentioned Structured data in that post and also added a link to Yoast website as they created local SEO plugin to implement structured data in a website. I think these only are the SEO trends in 2018. We can’t use Yoast plugins in all CMS.

“Fastest competitor wins the game” loved that quote.
