Redmi, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, will launch a slew of devices today at an event in China. Redmi Note 8 series, Redmi TV and a RedmiBook are expected to be unveiled. The event will begin at 2 p.m. in China, which is 11:30 a.m. in India. Even before the official launch, the Redmi Note 8 was leaked.
Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro
The Redmi Note 8 Pro will sport a 6.5 inches IPS LCD with a notch on the top of the phone. It will be powered by MediaTek Helio G90T processor clocked at 2.05GHz with a quad-camera setup. The primary will boast a huge 64MP sensor. Then there’s an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and another 2MP depth-sensing camera. The front camera will be a 20MP lens. The Note 8 Pro will come with a 6GB RAM and 64GB storage along with other options that include 8GB RAM and 128GB storage models. The phone will also support microSD card.
The regular Redmi Note 8 will be powered by MediaTek Helio processor with a 4,500 mAh battery. Like its elder sibling, it will also sport a quad-camera setup with the primary camera boasting of a huge 64MP sensor. It will have just 4GB RAM and 64GB base storage.
The pricing would set these phones in the affordable sections. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version of Redmi Note 8 Pro could be priced at CNY 1,799 (approximately ₹18,000) The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variants of the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be available for CNY 2,099 (approximately ₹21,000). The base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the phone might be priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately ₹12,000). The non-Pro variant will be priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately ₹12,000).
Redmi TV, RedmiBook 14
There’s not much information on Redmi’s Smart TV. Although, Xiaomi has revealed that one of the models will have a 70 niches screen. The teaser on Weibo.com shows that Redmi TV might have slim bezels and a pop-up camera for video calls.
The RedmiBook 14 2019 model has been rumored for a while now. It will be powered by 10th-generation Intel Core processors that will offer a 13% performance upgrade over the current version. Other specification would remain the same but we might see some changes, like an all-new 14-inch full-HD screen, Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics, and 8GB of RAM.
