Redmi is all set to launch the most anticipated flagship killer of 2019, the Redmi K20 Pro today in India. While the rumors did build up the hype, Redmi has surprised fans with a tweet announcing the Special Edition of the upcoming phone. Well, unlike One Plus’ Almond color which costs the same as the other colors, the K20 Pro Special Edition will have a Gold back. Yes, pure gold which justifies the ₹4,80,000 price tag.
Mi fans! Tomorrow, we’ll be unveiling a very special version of the #RedmiK20Pro… worth ₹4.8 LAKHS! 😮
— Redmi India (@RedmiIndia) July 16, 2019
Redmi had already launched an Avenger’s Special Edition smartphone in China, the only difference was the whole look of the phone and a few added accessories. Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director, Xiaomi India also tweeted “Launching something OUT OF THE WORLD tomorrow! A very special version worth.. hold-your-breath.. ₹ 4.8 Lakh!”
It is not clear whether the phone will be unveiled alongside the regular K20 & K20 Pro. There is no specifications list for the Gold edition as well. It might be the beefed-up K20 Pro. The launch of this new exorbitant K20 Pro seems like a move to acknowledge its five year anniversary in India. To jog your memory, Xiaomi launched its first-ever smartphone back in July 2014 in the form of its Mi 3 smartphone.
