Australian actress Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson, or known as Rebel Wilson, surprised fans on Monday (November 7) after announcing the birth of her first child, daughter Royce Lillian, born via surrogate.
Rebel Wilson has an excellent reason for giving her daughter the name she did. The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star said the name checks many boxes.
Wilson also made her romantic relationship with fashion and jewelry designer Ramona Agruma public on June 9 via an Instagram post.
“I wanted an original name starting with the letter R and so eventually landed on that one. Lillian and Elizabeth are family names carried by women I admire in my family, and Elizabeth is also my middle name, after the late Queen,” she told People.
Wilson also said that her girlfriend, Ramona Agruma, planned a baby shower for her. “It was the most gorgeous baby shower with friends from around the world,” said Wilson.
“Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate. I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved (you know who you are); this has been years in the making…but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family; it’s an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!
I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect for all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club,” Rebel posted the caption with a picture of her daughter on Instagram.
On the work front, Rebel will be next seen in ‘The Almond and the Seahorse’, which stars Charlotte Gainsbourg. The film will release later next month, arriving in select theaters and video-on-demand on December 16, 2022.
