Xu Qi Chase, the Chief Marketing Officer of Realme reportedly announced the launch of the Realme X50 5G in China. It seems that the company is considering various possibilities to enter the TV market with its smart TVs. If this turns out to be true then it would compete with its homegrown rival Xiaomi that has its Mi TV range.
According to a report by ITHome, CMO Xu Qi Chase at the sidelines of the Realme X50 5G launch in China revealed that Realme will launch its TV category in 2020. Earlier, the company was speculated to launch its first smart TV before the end of 2019.
It is assumed that the TV will have a 55-inch screen and will be powered by Android OS and will come integrated with some streaming services. Realme is also planning to bring its offerings in the Internet of Things (IoT) space alongside its plans for the smart TV market. Moreover, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India specified the plans for bringing new connected devices.
The company is also expected to launch a 5G phone this year. Earlier this week, it also launched the Realme X50 5G in China that is available at a starting price of CNY 2,499 (Approx. Rs. 25,800).
