Washington-based web service firm Ookla is adding an exciting feature that speed testers will love. Speedtest, Ookla’s web service that gives a free analysis of Internet access performance metrics, will now add a VPN of its own to its iOS app. Although it’s only a preview as of now, a full-fledged app will launch next year.
According to Ookla, it has zero logs policy when it comes to Speedtest VPN logging the users’ internet activity. It adds that the user remains anonymous through a technique wherein a shareable IP address from over 40,000 addresses is assigned to each user.

In order to use the free VPN, ensure that your Android/iOS app is up-to-date. Now launch the app and look for the VPN option, which is located at the bottom of the Speedtest app. Click on the toggle button. Now simply follow the steps to create the Speedtest VPN profile on your device.
The Speedtest VPN is free at the moment but you will only get 2GB of bandwidth every month. We’ll update you once the feature is rolled out globally.
