American multinational tech firm Microsoft has unveiled Surface Laptop Go, a toned-down version of Surface Laptop 3. It is priced at $549 (roughly ₹40,300). It will be a good option for students or other users who want a good experience at a budget price since the Surface Laptop 3 starts at $999 (approximately ₹73,400).

Talking about the specifications, the Laptop Go has a 12.4 inches touchscreen display with the firm’s PixelSense Technology. It has an aspect ratio of 3:2 with a resolution of 1536×1024. It also has a 720 HD webcam, coupled with two mics. This combination will make for great video calls.

In terms of connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5 and the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard. The base model of Laptop Go is powered by Intel’s 10th generation Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64 GB of MMC storage. The $699 (₹51,300) model comes with 8 GB RAM and 128GB storage. Microsoft promises 13 hours of battery life and fast charging for when it depletes. It’s available for pre-order in the US and will start shipping on October 13. There’s no indication of an Indian launch.

The Surface Pro X

Microsoft also launched an updated Surface Pro X. It is equipped with Microsoft SQ2 custom processor. There’s also a new ‘Platinum’ color. The ARM-based product is priced at $999 (roughly ₹73,400). Microsoft has also announced that their Windows apps are being optimized to suit the ARM architecture better. The new x64 emulation will open doors for many new ARM apps.
