At the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), RIL Chairman and Managing Director announced the commercial launch of Jio fiber on September 5.
The most basic plan for Jio fiber will start at 100 Mbps and will go up to 1 Gbps, with prices varying from ₹700- ₹10,000 per month. With Jio Fiber, the voice callings will be free forever just like cellular plans.
Ambani also said that Jio fiber will launch a premium service in the middle of 2020 for its customers where they can watch movies at their home on the same day they are released in theaters.
Jio GigaFiber rollout is expected to be completed within the next 12 months.
Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani also announced that Jio will also offer a free 4K LED TV and a setup box to users who opt for Jio forever plan. However, the price for the Jio forever plan has not yet been revealed.
At the Reliance Annual General Meeting (AGM), Ambani also revealed that Jio Fiber plans to come with the subscriptions to many leading premium OTT applications.
Another big announcement was made during the Annual General Meeting (AGM), Jio in a long-term alliance with Microsoft to accelerate the digital transformation of India will set up cloud data centers across India using the Azure platform.
