Trillion-dollar tech firm Apple announced the 2019 iPhones yesterday at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California. Like last year, users can choose from 3 devices, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. All three smartphones boost upgraded camera and A13 Bionic processor. Let’s take a detailed look at this year’s most powerful smartphones.
The smallest of the lot, the iPhone 11 is the successor to the iPhone XR, which was the most popular device of 2018. It was also the most sold smartphone of last year. It features a 6.1 inches Liquid Retina HD (828×1792 pixels) display with 326ppi. It can reach 625-nit peak brightness. Apple never mentions the battery size but they said the iPhone 11’s battery will last up to one hour longer than iPhone XR, so there’s that. It is available in Black, Green, Yellow, Purple, White, Product RED colors. The iPhone 11 measures 150.9×75.7×8.3mm and weighs 194 grams.
iPhone 11 Pro
The middle sibling, iPhone 11 Pro packs quite a punch with its 5.8 inches Super Retina XDR (1125×2436 pixels) OLED display with a pixel density of 458ppi and 800-nit peak brightness. iPhone 11 Pro’s battery will last up to 4 hours longer than its predecessor iPhone XS. It is available in Gold, Space Gray, Silver, Midnight Green colors. Its dimensions are 144×71.4×8.1mm and weighs 188 grams.
iPhone 11 Pro Max
The king of the smartphones and the most powerful iPhone, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5 inches Super Retina XDR (1,242×2,688 pixels) OLED display with a pixel density of 458ppi. It can reach 800-nit peak brightness. It is available in Gold, Space Gray, Silver, Midnight Green colors. The iPhone 11 Pro Max measures 158×77.8×8.1mm and weighs 226 grams.
All the 2019 iPhones will support dual-SIM connectivity via a Nano-SIM card slot and an eSIM. They also run the newest iOS 13 but charges with the same-old Lightning connector. Moreover, all three iPhone models are powered by the most powerful A13 Bionic chip and are also rated IP68 for dust and water-resistance. The only difference here is that the iPhone 11 can last up to 2 meters underwater for up to 30 minutes, while the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max can last up to 4 meters underwater up to 30 minutes. It is also spill-resistant against Another notable change is that Apple adds an 18W fast charger in the box! Yes, so one doesn’t need to spend additional money on a fast charger.
On the camera front, the iPhones have the same selfie sensor – a 12-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The main differences lie in the rear cameras. The iPhone 11 sports a dual rear camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera (f/1.8) + 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.4). The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone Pro Max, on the other hand, have the same wide-angle camera and ultra-wide-angle camera as the iPhone 11 but has an additional 12-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.0), making a total of three cameras on the back.
