Hey Everyone ! Hope you’re doing well.
In case if you’ve missed my last interviews, here is the link :
Well, this time I’m going to interview Mr. Gurunath Nakka the founder of the popular blog BestOfGuru.
Gurunath Sir is an MBA marketing graduate by profession and blogger by passion. He has got 15 years of experience in different designations in different companies/organisations. He has been blogging since August 2015 and is the founder of 3 blogs including BOG and the other 2 being, wpblogjournal.com & bestwpthemesclub.com.
He is also learning web designing and he offers WordPress installation and theme related services. So let’s begin with our first question to Gurunath Sir.
How you came up with an idea to create your own blog?
It was an accidental find. I was learning HTML, PHP through one of my friends through Skype and was searching for genuine ways to earn money online. I saw some posts on movie reviews, and I found that their website design is cool. I asked my friend how those websites were designed. He told they are blogs built on Blogger platform. So I tried one on my own in Blogger platform in June 2015.
Can you tell all the readers about yourself and your blogs?
I am a middle-class guy from one of the towns in A.P state, India and settled in Hyderabad since 2011. I am an MBA (Marketing) graduate, and I have worked in some MNC companies in various departments and cadres. Due to an accident in 2011, have to stop working in the Sales field and started working again in a small organisation. I began blogging in August 2015 through WordPress platform with my main blog, BestOfGuru. I have around eight blogs covering Blogging, WordPress, Tech, Sports, Entertainment Niche.
Tell more about bestofguru and filmchitchat.
See. I am an entertainment lover, and I have a great passion for Cricket and movies. I Played cricket in my school and college days and also a movie geek. This made to start a blog on movie updates, reviews, and sports through BestOfGuru in initial days. Later I have concentrated more of Blogging and Tech niches in BestOfGuru and due to experience thought of having a separate niche for Movies and Sports altogether. This is how FilmChitChat and MaaGameZone have taken birth.
What are your favorite Internet marketing tools?
There are no such favorites as I do not have access to any paid or premium tools. I use MOZ’s Open Site Explorer for checking Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA), Backlinks and other free resources they offer. I use Majestic Free limited tool to check my blogs once in a week or so to find the balance between TF (Trust Flow) and CF (Citation Flow). I use Semrush’s Free option to find keywords and organic search.
I use to check Webmaster tools regularly to check the traffic, index status, keywords I am ranking or possibilities of ranking in future. Google Keyword Planner for monitoring the approximate Search Volume of any given keyword. I will also use Uber Suggest for LSI keywords of particular seed keyword.
What type of networking do you think is better to enhance your blog traffic?
The only way I got traffic from the blog during the initial six months of my blogging is through Social relationship with all my blog buddies. I use to share my topics to all the reputed Social Media Platforms like Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Twitter, Stumble Upon & Pinterest. I used to get 25 % of my total traffic from Facebook alone. To enhance your traffic alongside Social Media, you need to register to some reputed forums in your niche and also try to make positive comments on reputed or authority blogs within your niche. Guest Posting/Blogging is another great way to get instant traffic, but you need to produce killer content on the authority blog where you are publishing the topic. My other weapons were “Round Up Posts” & “Interviews of Bloggers within your niche.”
How do you manage time to run your blogs efficiently?
In practical it very tough and almost impossible to you to run more blogs on your own. You need a team of writers, editors and other staff depending on your business. As far I concerned I started giving the content part to the articles for all my secondary blogs and maintaining the main blog, i.e., Best Of Guru on my own.
What is your social networking strategy?
I do not have any particular plan for this. I am doing basic things right, and the points were as discussed above on networking strategy.
What’s your advice for a newbie?
It is tough to give advice to anyone in this modern days as most of the people are reluctant to take advice from the experiences of the senior bloggers. However, if you are a serious newbie who came to blogging to do something, you need to google for Pro Bloggers, read and study their blogs. The more you know and follow few of your interest, the better you can become. For me, Blogging can be learned through practical experiences rather than anything else. One should be very patient, dedicated, passionate and have self-motivation with confidence to move along in this field.
What was your most challenging moment in Blogging?
Finding right keywords and getting Traffic is still my difficult moment to date. I just can’t able to find right keywords and also weak in SEO and related thing. It took me 6 months to start earning a few bucks from Blogging.
What’s your greatest achievement? (In blogging )
I have not yet achieved anything great. If you still need something to share then I think the roundup posts and interviews of Pro bloggers has been the good achievement
Tell something about your future plans?
First I need to settle down my secondary blogs with content and then need to tweak them regularly. I am researching on some keywords for starting a micro niche blog and still searching.
Your words for 3nions and me.
I have seen you for the past few months and I am impressed the way you are approaching. You are doing interviews and also you can try round up posts. Keep this passion towards blogging as your main goal and all the very best.
If you like to add something I have missed?
I just want to say thanks a lot to your readers and yourself offering me such an opportunity to share my thoughts.
If you liked this interview, must share it with your friends on Facebook and Twitter. Next time I’ll be interviewing another great blogger, so keep visiting and Happy Blogging.
