Instagram is finally rolling the music feature dubbed as Instagram Music. It will be made available on all of its platforms. This feature basically lets users tag song lyrics and snippets to their Instagram stories. Only the users in the US had access to this feature, which was rolled in June 2018.
To use this feature, users need to update the Instagram app to the latest version (v184.108.40.206.119). The Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store’s description might include this in the new updates bullet.
How to use this feature
Instagram Music is tucked in the stickers drawer. Now swipe right and create a new story by selecting a picture or by tapping on Create to make a new text story. Once done, you’ll have to swipe up or simply tap on the sticker icon. A new icon awaits, which is the ‘Music’ feature.
You’re required to select a song that you want to link to the story. A part of the song can be selected to be used in the story. You also have the freedom to change the font style, size, and color of the lyrics. Tap on Done if you are satisfied with the result.
The library features a plethora of Indian songs along with some popular international numbers. Keep in mind that this feature is only available on Instagram stories and not on posts. In addition, this feature is also present on Facebook, known as Facebook Music. It functions the same way as Instagram Music. Another feature, known as Lip Sync, will also be launched today.
