Jio is a name echoed in deep parts of India. Why? Because it was able to something that no telecom operator could ever do – provide quality with quantity. Announced back in September 2016, Jio gained momentum as it let users try its network free for 3 months, including calling, messaging and internet. Soon, other operators had to follow suit as their subscribers were dwindling day by day.
Now what users get is a consolidated recharge amount. You don’t need to spend money on a data pack, talk-time, or an SMS pack individually. Known as the Unlimited pack, you can select a specific validity of the recharge, be it the classic 28 days, 3 months, or even an annual recharge. If you happen to be a new Jio subscriber and do not know how to recharge your phone, allow us to help you to get started.
How to Recharge my Jio Number
There are numerous ways through which you can recharge your Jio number but we will cover the most basic three methods which are easy too.
Method 1: MyJio Application
MyJio is a complete application that caters to all your needs. You can get your balance information, recharge your number or talk to your digital assistant Before we proceed, don’t forget to download the application from the Google Play Store.
Step 1: Launch the application once the download is complete.
Step 2: Go to the bottom of your screen and click on Recharge.
Step 3: Here, you will see a list of Jio plans that you have to choose from.
Step 4: Select the plan and proceed to the payment window.
Step 5: Once you have entered all your financial credentials correctly, your recharge will be successful. You will receive a message regarding the same.
Method 2: Paytm
When the wave of demonetization hit the Indian citizens, PayTm got its spotlight and so did other e-wallets. But back in 2016, when India was literally cashless, people who had some money in their banks could spend it at various places all thanks to Paytm. You can now recharge your mobile number, Tata Sky, buy a movie ticket, or a flight ticket, pay your electricity bills, all in just one application. Isn’t that fabulous? Of course, it will do a simple recharge for your Jio number.
Step 1: Download the application from the Play Store.
Step 2: Launch the app and navigate to Recharge. Select Mobile Prepaid if your number is a Prepaid and Mobile Postpaid if it is postpaid.
Step 3: Browse through all the plans if this is your first recharge. It is always good to recharge before doing a big recharge.
Step 4: Select the appropriate plan and select ‘Proceed to Recharge.’
Step 5: Complete your payment either within Paytm or your Debit/Credit Card. You will get a confirmation of the recharge.
Method 3: Bank Applications
Nowadays, everyone is looking to compete with Paytm. Even your bank’s mobile application. Well, if you don’t use Paytm, this is not a bad option either.
Step 1: Download your bank’s application from the Google Play Store. In my case, it’s Axis Bank.
Step 2: Once you are done with the download, launch it and enter your M-Pin.
Step 3: Look for ‘Other Services’, or simply ‘Recharge.’
Step 4: Select Mobile recharge. Depending on banks, you might need to add the Payee.
Step 5: After the process is complete, punch in your Jio number and browse through the plans.
Step 6: Select a plan and select Proceed.
Step 7: As it’s your bank’s application, you don’t need to add money separately just for a simple recharge. The amount will be automatically deducted.
While these were the top applications to perform a simple recharge, they aren’t your only option. There are a lot of applications which are created just for recharging a mobile number or renewing your Tata Sky services.
