TikTok is one of the most successful apps in India with over 500 million downloads. Lasso allows its users to record 15-second videos and overlay them with popular songs. TikTok’s had a contentious year in India but despite that, the platform gained many users.

The authorities in April asked Google and Apple to kick out the app from the Play Store and the App Store because of porn on the platform. However, it would be difficult for Lasso to grow such a large userbase.
