Nothing’s purported Android 13-based update, Nothing OS 1.5.0, which is for its Nothing Phone (1), was teased by the CEO Carl Pei.

Pei took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the About Phone section of a Nothing 1 device running the Nothing OS 1.5.0. The screenshot lists the Android version number as based on Android 13.

He also assured that the company would soon open a beta program to allow users experience the Android 13 release before the stable rollout.

Nothing CEO Carl Pei responded to users commenting on the Nothing OS 1.5.0 teaser, asking if there will be an upcoming beta program by saying it will be “coming soon”.

It is unknown whether Nothing will adopt a different course with the Android 13-based Nothing OS 1.5.0 by introducing custom features or providing a relatively clean Android experience with the latest update.

In August, CEO Carl Pei stated that the company wouldn’t hurry with the Android 13 update and sought to deliver a beta version by the end of the year. He also said that a stable version of Android 13 for the Nothing Phone 1 will be released in early 2023.

The Nothing OS closely resembles the Android builds found on Pixel. Nothing OS 1.5.0 would be a great way to give fans and potential buyers new features. Android 13 includes several improvements that should enhance the overall Phone (1) experience.
