Google on Wednesday introduced the Android 10 Go Edition for entry-level smartphones. The mobile software will not only benefit phones to run faster but will also add more security to the devices. “With Android 10 (Go edition), we’ve made Android faster and more secure,” Google said.
The new Android 10 (Go edition) is claimed to offer faster memory-efficient switching between apps and is said to be 10 percent faster than Android 9 (Go edition). Moreover, Android 10 (Go edition) will come with a dissimilar form of encryption called Adiantum. With Adiantum, budget phones can be just as secure as flagship phones, Google said.
Google developed the Android Go platform back in 2017 and was particularly designed for smartphones with merely 1GB of memory or less. Besides Android 10 (Go edition), Google also highlighted some of the recent updates that were rolled out apps designed for Go edition phones.
Google Go will come with an AI-based read-aloud feature whereas Gallery Go will make use of AI to organize your photos. Moreover, Google also stated that “over 500 manufacturers have launched more than 1,600 Android (Go edition) devices” in the past year with $27 being the lowest price tag. Phones with Android 10 Go edition will start making their way to retailers sometime this fall, Google said.
