1. Quiz and Survey Master

With over 20000+ download and 500+ five star ratings, this plugin is my first best WordPress quiz plugin in the list.

The plugins take less than 5 minutes to make a quiz from scratch. One thing I liked about this plugin is the huge variety of question types they are providing. From multiple choice to fill in the blanks you can pretty much make any type of quiz with this plugin. The scoring system on this plugin is very flexible.

The other feature I liked is you can set a timer for your quiz. The time will be running in the browser.

There’s a premium plan available for this plugin starting at $15, but in my opinion, the free version does the job well.

Things I liked:

  • Email Notifications are sent to the user.
  • A huge variety of Question Types
  • The Timer add-on functionality
  • You can add images and multimedia to your quiz

Things I didn’t like:

  • The premium plan is slightly on the expensive side

If you love to keep things clean and at the same time beautiful than you must definitely give Quiz Cat a try. The plugin comes with beautiful landing pages which will attract more users to take part in the quiz. Furthermore, it also shuffles the answer, so it becomes less boring for the user while answering the questions.

The interface on this app is very user-friendly it will take a few minutes to understand all the features. Compared to Quiz and Survey Monster I really loved the simplicity of this plugin.

The plugin comes with a premium plan with a sweet price starting at $29 and exceeding up to $99 one time payment. With the premium plan, you’ll get features like analytics and a much bigger library of landing pages.

Unless and until you haven’t mastered the quiz building skill don’t go with the paid one as the free plugin will help you out.

Things I liked:

3. WP Quiz

The best part of the WP Quiz plugin has various quiz types to select from like the trivia, personality, and flip cards. As soon as you select the quiz type, the settings change on its own.

The plugin is developed by ThemeShop and have 8000+ active downloads. It’s free to use and covers all the features which a website owner needs to keep his audience engaged.

They have a Pro plan which comes with a price tag of $87. In my opinion, that’s quite expensive when you are getting a lot of features there for free.

Things I liked:

  • Almost all required features are available in the free version
  • Fully customizable, you can customize backgrounds, font text, landing page colours.
  • Various quiz types to choose from

Things I didn’t like:

  • The premium plugin is expensive for $87.

4. mTouch Quiz

As the name suggests, the plugin comes with touch support. On the first look, I didn’t like the User Interface of this plugin. It feels very confusing to me. One more downside of this plugin is it only supports multiple question types.

Nevertheless, a good thing about this plugin is you get all the basic features for free like randomly shuffling the answers, pointer values, etc. If you want a basic quiz with not so much bloatware than this WordPress quiz plugin will fit your needs.

Things I liked:

  • Completely Free.
  • Shuffling the answers.

Things I didn’t like:

  • Restricted to Single question type.
  • The plugin is not updated for last one year.
  • Confusing User Interface.

5. Viral Quiz Builder

This is a paid plugin and comes at the cost of $25 one time payment. The viral quiz is fast and easy to use. It’s more focused on making the quizzes go viral on social media platforms.

The best features of this plugin are the custom results where you can create a custom badge with the results. To keep it simple they have added only single option answer. You can add any multimedia in Viral Quiz Builder.

One downside of it is it’s not available for free. So, if you are looking for a free option than you might need to try some other plugin.

As it’s a paid plugin, you get access to analytics which helps you determine which questions are users answering more so that next time you can create your quiz better.

Things I liked:

  • Strong social sharing.
  • Multimedia Support.
  • Analytics.

Things I didn’t like:

  • Only paid option available.
  • Restricted to one type of question type.

6. SlickQuiz

This WordPress quiz plugin is well-known for its dynamic quiz which it can create with the help of SlickQuiz Jquery Plugin. One cool thing is the scoring system on this plugin it’s a little unique they give you several positions like “Super Genius” for acquiring 10 on 10 and “Genius” for 8 on 10.

As usual, all the features like the customizable text, and scoring system with various question type of answers is similar to other WordPress quiz plugins. Other than the dynamic quiz nothing took my attention for this plugin.

Things I liked:

  • Dynamic Quiz
  • Customizable text, scores, and background.
  • Easy to set up and clean design.

Things I didn’t like:

  • Not recently updated.
  • Nothing unique to talk about the normal plugin for others.

7. ARI Stream Quiz

The plugin is just downloaded over 900 times and still seems to be very new to me. However, let me tell you it’s by far the best design I have seen on this plugin when compared to all the other quiz plugins mentioned above.

The User Interface is so sleek and easy to use that even a layman can pretty much use it like a pro.

You get an option between Trivia and Personality quizzes again nothing special here, but I have not yet come out of the UI fever it’s so mesmerizing to me.

The plugin also comes with a premium version and starts at $17. It covers a few advanced features like showing results page and showing multiple pages.

If you love clean and sleek UI just like I do this the plugin is for you guys!

Things I liked:

  • Super clean User Interface.
  • Offer premium support with the free plugin.
  • Shuffles answers and make quizzes more engaging.

8. Watu Quiz

Watu is a complete package quiz plugin for WordPress. If you want to conduct exams than this plugin will show the results immediately. Furthermore, it has a scoring system which will give a score for all the right answers and eventually collect an average score based on that it will assign you a grade.

It’s all the features are free to use however there is a pro plugin which you can use for more advanced features. It starts with $47 and exceeds for high priced bundles with more advanced features.

The paid plan includes advanced features like pagination, several advanced quiz categories, printable certificates.

If you are happy with all the basic feature that I’d recommend not to opt-in for the paid plan. However, if you do feel a need for the advanced feature like certificates and advance quiz types than upgrading might be a good option for you!

Things I liked:

  • Easy to set up an advance quiz in a fraction of seconds.
  • The grading system is impressive.

Things I didn’t like:

  • Limited free features.
  • The base version is $47 which is fine, but the extended version can go up to $137 which is pretty high for a quiz plugin.

9. WP Pro Quiz

The plugin is downloaded over 20000+ times and has a very good rating compared to other quiz plugins of WordPress. However, one shocking thing is they haven’t updated the plugin since last two years which honestly I didn’t like.

On top of that, they have a lot of options to customize which can make anyone feel confused about the tool. The User Interface is simple, and nothing extra has been done here. Regarding features, they have done a pretty good job by adding all the features which you can see in all the other quiz plugins.

You get basic features like customizable fonts, powerful configuration and basic type of quiz like the single and multiple option quiz.

In my opinion, there are other very good plugins available in the list which you can go for instead of going with WP Pro Quiz.

Things I Like:

  • Everything is free.
  • Basic features like multiple question types and customization are covered.
  • Email notifications.

Things I didn’t like:

  • Elementary and confusing User Interface.
  • The plugin is not updated since a long time.

10. WordPress Viral Quiz – BuzzFeed Quiz Builder

The WordPress Viral – Quiz Buzzfeed Quiz Builder is specially made for all the viral news blogs and websites out there.

It’s a mobile-friendly quiz plugin which comes in two types of quizzes namely personality and trivia. It also has a lead generation magnet which can increase your email subscribers. The best part about this plugin is they force you to share on social media if you want to see the final results. This will help you generate more eyeballs on the quiz and generate more leads.

I like the way they have made this plugin but still not the best in my opinion.

Things I like:

  • Built-in lead generation.
  • Forcefull social sharing.
  • Analytics feature available.

Things I didn’t like:

  • These viral style quizzes don’t suit a professional educational or informational blog.
  • Limited integrations with popular email marketing tools.
